Cubase Just Crashed – Now what?

Cubase Crash

This morning, I had some band over to do a recording. All good, the guys come in, we chat a little about how things would go, have a few test runs, and finally we started to record. We went on, and on, from 10 AM to 8 PM. Cubase worked great, no incidents what-so-ever. Just before I shutdown the computer, and call it a day, I copied the project  (along with all the audiofiles) on a USB drive so I can tweak it a little more at at home on my laptop.

And when I got home, surprise… Cubase decided it wouldn’t work anymore. All the files were there, in the usual folders Cubase creates (Audio, Freeze, Images, etc), but the project didn’t load! WTF you’d probably say (just as I did!), or not… anyway, I’ve been struggling all day long to do my best on recording those guys, and now this happens. Life’s just great, isn’t it?

I didn’t had a chance to open it again on the computer in the studio, I hope it will work on it, if not, I’m screwed! And to top all that, tomorrow I’m supposed to record the vocals for that track.

The problem is that all my other projects load just fine on both computers (my home notebook, and the studio unit), except this one. I’ve tried to disable all my plugins (the plugins installed on my notebook, are the same ones i have installed in the studio, and it’s a fresh windows 7 installation, with no aditional software!), that didn’t work either.

Anyway, if you happen to know anything about this, or have had a similar problem, please leave a comment below, it would mean so much!

PS: I’m using Cubase 5.
