iPhone’s release back in 2007 changed the (music) world. Companies saw this as an opportunity to expand their market, and they started building lots of music apps. You can now use your iPhone to play all kinds of instruments, record vocals, or even sequence a whole album. You can even control your DAW via Wireless Network or USB.
IK Multumedia have released their mobile version of AmpliTube, the “guitar studio” as I call it. Together with iRig (sounds apple to me!), you can plugin your guitar on your iPhone, and you’re ready to rock! That easy.
Here’s a demo:
Before I go on presenting it’s features and highlights, I’d just like to say this: Man, the GUI for this baby is just amazing! They did a fantastic job on that!
Now, the features:

This little app sounds pretty impressive to my ears (at least!). It’s amazing you can get all those lovely warm sounds from a device that fits in the palm of your hand.
I guess you can’t use this to perform on a concert (why not though?!), but it’s great if you need to sketch your ideas fast. This whole mobile recording/performing idea is pretty impressive to me, and the development of mobile apps is as fast as a Ferrari speeding on the highway. Makes me feel bad about selling my iPhone.
Pricing & Availability
You can buy AmpliTube from Apple’s App store. There are 3 versions for you to choose from:

That’s cheap! And you get a lot for that money too.
What do you think about AmpliTube? Would you use it in a live setup?
